آئی ایم ایف قرضہ معاہدے میں تاخیر کے باعث انٹربینک مارکیٹ میں ڈالر کے مقابلے روپے کی قدر میں کمی | Rupee Slides Against Dollar in Interbank Market Due to Delay in IMF Loan Agreement

On Thursday, the rupee took a hit against the dollar during intraday trading in the interbank market. It depreciated by Rs2.88 and was being exchanged at Rs282/dollar at around 10:40am. The depreciation could be attributed to the delay in reviving the loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This delay has caused uncertainty in the market and until the agreement is secured, investors will remain hesitant.

Zafar Paracha, General Secretary Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP), stated that there was no significant reason behind the depreciation, but the market was currently seeing an upward trend. However, he added that the delay in signing the IMF deal could be a contributing factor.

Paracha explained that until the government secures the agreement and receives all payments after approval, people will remain doubtful. Additionally, there is pressure from the IMF and foreign investors to weaken the local currency so that they can invest. They want to close the dollar at a maximum rate and make investments in PIDs or government securities by 20-22%.

In conclusion, the delay in the IMF loan agreement has caused uncertainty in the market, leading to the depreciation of the rupee against the dollar. Until the agreement is secured, the market will remain hesitant, and investors will continue to be cautious.

جمعرات کو انٹر بینک مارکیٹ میں انٹرا ڈے ٹریڈنگ کے دوران ڈالر کے مقابلے روپے کی قدر میں اضافہ ہوا۔ اس میں 2.88 روپے کی کمی ہوئی اور صبح 10:40 بجے کے قریب 282 روپے فی ڈالر پر تبادلہ کیا جا رہا تھا۔ اس قدر میں کمی کی وجہ بین الاقوامی مالیاتی فنڈ (آئی ایم ایف) کے ساتھ قرض کے معاہدے کی تجدید میں تاخیر کو قرار دیا جا سکتا ہے۔ تاخیر نے مارکیٹ میں غیر یقینی صورتحال پیدا کر دی ہے اور جب تک کوئی معاہدہ نہیں ہو جاتا، سرمایہ کار تذبذب کا شکار رہیں گے۔

ظفر پراچہ، جنرل سیکرٹری ایکسچینج کمپنیز ایسوسی ایشن آف پاکستان (ECAP) نے کہا کہ قدر میں کمی کے پیچھے کوئی خاص وجہ نہیں تھی، لیکن اس وقت مارکیٹ میں اضافے کا رجحان ہے۔ تاہم، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ آئی ایم ایف معاہدے پر دستخط میں تاخیر ایک بڑا عنصر ہو سکتا ہے۔

پراچا نے وضاحت کی کہ جب تک حکومت معاہدہ کو محفوظ نہیں کر لیتی اور منظوری کے بعد تمام ادائیگیاں وصول نہیں کرتی، لوگ شک میں رہیں گے۔ مزید برآں، آئی ایم ایف اور غیر ملکی سرمایہ کاروں کی جانب سے مقامی کرنسی کو کمزور کرنے کا دباؤ ہے تاکہ وہ سرمایہ کاری کر سکیں۔ وہ جتنا ممکن ہو سکے ڈالر میں لاک کرنا چاہتے ہیں اور PIDs یا سرکاری سیکیورٹیز میں 20-22% تک سرمایہ کاری کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔

آخر کار آئی ایم ایف کے قرض کے معاہدے میں تاخیر نے مارکیٹ میں غیر یقینی صورتحال پیدا کر دی ہے جس کے نتیجے میں ڈالر کے مقابلے روپے کی قدر میں کمی واقع ہوئی ہے۔ جب تک سودا محفوظ نہیں ہو جاتا، مارکیٹ اتار چڑھاؤ کا شکار رہے گی، اور سرمایہ کار محتاط رہیں گے۔
